Anti Aliasing in Safari 4 – Windows

So recently we’ve been working on a new e-commerce project. The project required us to do some testing in Safari 4 for Windows. Most of you probably know OSX renders fonts with much more smoothing than Windows machines do. I don’t know why they do this, they just do. On Windows, fonts look a bit more jagged if you will.

In Safari for Windows you have a choice. You can use native Windows ClearType rendering for fontsor you can use OSX anti-aliasing. Turning it on and off is simple:

Take your pick, it’s easy! Just go to Safari Preferences, choose the “Appearance” menu and set Font smoothing to whatever you fancy! It’s that easy!
